The multiple auction scheduled by Rawson Auctions to take place on 21st May at 12 noon at the Rawson Property Group’s head office at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch, is week-by-week becoming “more significant” as Rawson Auctions adds new properties to the list, many of which are of an exceptionally high quality. This was said recently by Tanya Jovanovski, co-franchisee with Victor Schonborn for Rawson Auctions in the Western Cape.
The latest of the prestigious homes to be added to the auction list, said Jovanovksi, is on a 1,698 m2 erf sited at 5A Brommaert Avenue, Constantia (off Brommersvlei Road and close to Ferndale Nursery) and this could well be one of the most popular properties to be auctioned by herself this year.
The home, which has four bedrooms and four bathrooms is partly shaded by tall trees, has a very well established garden, a formal lounge, a TV room cum informal lounge, a dining room and a kitchen with marble countertops and ultra-modern culinary equipment.
The garden is automatically irrigated with water supplied by a borehole on the property and its centre piece is a large swimming pool. There is, too, domestic’s quarters, a laundry room, a double garage with direct access to the main house and secure parking on site for at least six vehicles.
Jovanovski said that she was expecting to take offers from R8 million and would be very reluctant to consider any price below this.
“It has to be realized,” she said, “that this is a quality building in one of the very best addresses that the Cape Peninsula can offer. Its position, very close to the Constantia Sports Club (with its tennis and squash courts and its Virgin Active gym) and its proximity to Contantia Village shopping centre also makes it very desirable.”
The terms under which the property will be auctioned are those always set by Rawson Auctions, i.e. no registration fee is charged to bid but the successful buyer is expected to put down a deposit of 5% of the sales price on the fall of the hammer and to complement this with a 10% commission plus VAT over and above the purchase price for Rawson Auctions.
Jovanovski reminded potential bidders that the Consumer Protection Act stipulates that all have to be registered and that they must bring with them certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence.
