It is, says Tanya Jovanovski, CEO of Rawson Auctions, an accepted fact in Strand property circles that those homes reasonably close to the beach are always in greater demand than those sited in the high density areas 500 or more metres from the sea.
This, she says, means that the property she will be auctioning at 12 noon on 28th June at Broadlands Village should be a good investment.
It is a three bedroom white walled home with an open plan kitchen and living, one bathroom and a small garden with a carport.
'Broadlands Village has from the outset attracted favourable comments because of its neat, well planned appearance and its reasonable prices,' said Jovanovski.
'This home, on which we expect bids to begin at R300 000 is typical of the development in that it has attractive finishes, a tiled roof, full wall tiling and fitted kitchen.
The home, she says, could command a rent of R2 800 per month. It would suit any person commuting to Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Bellville or even Cape Town '“ and, she adds, there is a big market for rentals in this area as so many young families cannot get bonds.
Rawson Auctions do not ask for a bidding registration fee but they expect to be paid a 5% deposit on the fall of the hammer and they charge a 10% fee on all sales.
