Coming up for auction on the 26th of March are two neighbouring semi-detached cottages, 100 metres from the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock. These cottages, says Tanya Jovanovski, co-franchisee for Rawson Auctions in the Western Cape, are perfect for those who want easy access to both the Cape Town CBD and the Southern Suburbs.
The first cottage coming up for auction is number 68 Bromwell Road. The home, which is on an erf of 118 m2, has two bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, a bathroom with a shower, toilet and bath and a courtyard.
The second cottage, which is next door to the first, is at number 70 Bromwell Road. This cottage is double storey (not visible in the photograph), is on an erf of 92 m2, has 60m² of room upstairs and has five bedrooms (two downstairs and three upstairs), a kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom with a bath and shower and a courtyard.
The reserve prices, says Jovanovski, are R935,000 and R1,250,000 respectively. The auctions will take place at the Rawson Property Group’s head office at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch at 12 noon.
Rawson Auctions expect a 5% auctioneer’s deposit to be paid on the fall of the hammer as well as 10% commission plus VAT over and above the sales price. They do not charge a bidder’s registration fee, but in terms of the Consumer Protection Act all those attending auctions in South Africa today must have proof of identity and proof of residence.
