Having recently achieved the asking price of a home in Rondebosch’s Lovers Walk, Rawson Auctions go into their next Rondebosch home sale with confidence that it, too, will attract great interest.
“The home now becoming available epitomises what people are looking for when they go home hunting in Rondebosch,” says Tanya Jovanovski, co-franchisee (along with Victor Schonborn) for Rawson Auctions in the Western Cape.
The home, she says, a double storey with a slate tiled roof, is across the road from Bishops Diocesan College and within cycling distance to Rondebosch Boys’ and Rustenburg Girls’ high and junior schools. The erf measures 661 m2.
“This,” says Jovanovski, “is the ideal family home. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, four recreation/living areas, a sun room and back and front gardens.”
The auction will be held at 12 noon on 18th December at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch (the Rawson Property Group’s head office).
Jovanovski recommends that bids should start at around R4 million. The going price for this size home in this area, she says, has recently been very close to R6 million.
Rawson Auctions expect a 5% auctioneer’s deposit to be paid on the fall of the hammer as well as 10% commission plus VAT over and above the sales price. They do not charge a bidder’s registration fee, but in terms of the Consumer Protection Act all those attending auctions in South Africa today must have proof of identity and proof of residence.
