Rawson leads his franchises into entrepreneurial roles

News

Bill Rawson, Chairman of Rawson Properties, is expanding his franchise training service to make his franchisees 'all rounders' in the property industry '“ and the new training will be largely given by himself.

Explaining his thinking, Rawson said that, his fundamental aim is for his franchisees to achieve financial freedom, to build up sufficient wealth to be able to branch out in any direction they choose '“ or to retire.

'Obviously,' he said, 'this will be achieved primarily by expanding the franchise and then selling it at a profit or by taking in young partners who, in a sense, pay your pension '“ but my goal is to train all franchisees to do as I have done'

This, he said, means becoming property investors and property developers as well as estate agents '“ and he hopes that his franchisees will then take their clients in the same direction.

Many of his franchisees, said Rawson, already own ten or more properties and, in partnership with others, invest in a wide range of developments. They are by no means confined to residential property, spreading their investments across commercial, retail and industrial units.

'If my training is successful,' he said, 'some Rawson franchisees will become property consultants in every sphere and, I hope, wealthy entrepreneurs in their own right. The great benefit of property investment of all kinds is that, although it seldom gives spectacular results, it is an extremely sound investment avenue '“ and, for this reason, usually does qualify for bank assistance. You are, therefore, making your money on the banks money'
