Rawson Expansion Programme well on track

News

The recent three day Rawson Properties franchisees conference held at Langebaan and attended by 100+ franchisees from across all nine provinces has shown clearly that the Rawson expansion programme is welcomed and appreciated by the group's franchisees, says Bill Rawson, Chairman of the group.

'There may well have been a time when expansion was seen by some of the franchisees (probably a minority) as a threat to their ambitions. Potential franchisees were in the habit of asking us to give them control over a very large territory so as to exclude any competition.

'By contrast, however, it is now widely accepted that the stronger the Rawson presence, the stronger the brand awareness and dominance will be and as a consequence more referrals will take place'

'This unique franchise model has been proven to be successful due to the fact that the Rawson group has seen remarkable growth through some of the most challenging times in South-African real estate history'

It had, added Rawson, been encouraging to note that franchisees rate Rawson management high on its caring and nurturing attitude to franchisees and that the franchisees themselves are also willing to work with and mentor each other to their mutual benefit.

'We saw clear evidence that the family spirit and culture on which we set such importance is alive and well in the group,' said Rawson.

'The conference had also revealed clearly that there are big advantages to being solely and exclusively a franchise group.

'If we had branch offices as well as franchises they would, I believe, be seen as rivals to the franchises and reducing management commitment to the support and training of franchisees on a 24/7 basis. Rawsons dedicated focus and elimination of conflicts of interest have helped the group in developing some of the leading systems and tools within the real estate profession'

Rawson said that the expansion plan of the Rawson Properties group is well on track. This year, he said, some 22 new franchises have been established and the goal is to set up a further 200 before the end of 2015. The prime growth areas at the moment are Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal and sections of the Free State.
