In the coming year, Rawson Auctions Western Cape will be spending far more time on the promotion and selling of new franchises in their territory.
Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee for Rawson Auctions Western Cape, said that after an initial period of holding back on – and even scepticism about – the auction process, South Africans have come round to accepting this as an efficient, goal-orientated way of selling any product – especially property – and the present time, she says, is a good one for establishing a new auction franchise.
Jovanovski warned, however, that success in the auction world is not easily come by and requires hard work and perseverance. Nevertheless, for those with these qualities, it can be a very rewarding career.
“Prospective auction applicants should take note that the recently established Rawson Auctions Garden Route franchise, bought by Andre Piguet and Ursula Otto of the Rawson Properties Mossel Bay residential franchise, were successful with their very first offering.”
The new Rawson Auctions Garden Route team sold the spectacularly sited 40 Coney Glen, perched high above the ocean at Knysna Heads, for R5 million. This price says Jovanovski, quite possibly represents one of the best buys made in the last three years on the Garden Route because, apart from its magnificent setting, the home boasts upmarket finishes and features and is believed to be one Knysna’s top homes.
Outlining the reasons for buying a Rawson Auctions franchise, Jovanovski said that this type of business offers great scope to the genuine, self-motivated entrepreneur. Such people, she said, have, in a very short space of time, grown auction businesses to the point where they employ five to 10 people and occupy a dominant position in their area.
“I do encourage those who want to investigate this career choice more thoroughly to get in touch with me and I can assure them that the Rawson package includes appropriate IT assistance, on-going advertising and continuous training. As in all Rawson franchises, the support from the head office is always comprehensive and available at all times.
(In the three years that Jovanovski has owned and run the Rawson Auctions Western Cape franchise she has averaged two to three auctions per week).
