Centurion, sited just outside of Pretoria, has in recent years seen fast growth but is now able to offer residential property buyers houses at exceptionally 'reasonable' prices.
So says Johan Lubbe, the new Rawson Properties franchisee for the area '“ and, he predicts, those buying now will find that by early 2012 they are looking back on significant price rises.
Lubbe has had seven years in property and marketing, starting as an agent. By 2005 he was a rental portfolio manager controlling some 600 properties.
He then bought a rental portfolio and went independent in 2009, establishing his own rental management company. He has now bought into Rawsons because, he says, they have the sort of big brand image from which he can benefit '“ and they provide a support package, network and systems that are impressive. The move also gives him the opportunity to sell homes in addition to renting them '“ and therefore to grow fast.
The great advantages of Centurion, says Lubbe, are, firstly, that it is sited so as to be able to serve not only Pretoria but also Midrand, Sandton and Northen Johannesburg '“ even at a push, such reef towns as Germiston and Krugersdorp.
Secondly, it offers a wonderful variety of housing in a wide range of prices. Due to the increases in sales at the end of 2010 exceeding expectations , Johan says that these promising signs must not be ignored, and that sales of property could still increase earlier rather than later in 2011.
