Rawson Properties’ Dainfern, Fourways and Lonehill franchise, which since 2008, has been owned by Andrew Webb, is marketing a 198 HA private game reserve, lodge and conference centre, known as the Ngomo Safari Lodge.
The property is sited in the heart of the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve in the Cradle of Humankind conservation area.
“The big advantage of this property is its situation,” said Paul Parker, the Rawson agent handling this specific property. “Being only 40 minutes from Sandton, it is accessible to both tourists and the business community, some of whose members make regular use of the conference and entertainment sections.”
The lodge, said Parker, has the right to enter and use the entire 1,400 HA reserve in which it is placed, for game viewing and a wide variety of wildlife, including the lion and rhino, can be seen here. The lodge itself, he added, has just on 100 game species, including eland, gemsbok, wildebeest and warthog, all of which will be sold as part of the property package.
A new Unimog game viewing vehicle and other game viewing vehicles also form part of the total sale offering.
The accommodation facilities attached to the lodge can take 52 people, who are housed in ten East African style tents, six luxury tents and four VIP rooms. The restaurant, which is thatch roofed and wholly African in design, can accommodate up to 90 people.
Parker commented that at R15 million the reserve price for this property is “exceptionally reasonable and is very definitely geared to a quick sale”.
He reminded potential buyers that the lodge won the West Rand Tourism Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and was nominated for the Rocci Business of the Year Award in 2011.
