Fundraiser initative launched at Rawson Auctions Western Cape's Property Investors Dinner

News

A fundraising event for the Maitland Cottage Home children's hospital in Newlands was recently launched at a bi-monthly Property Investors Dinner hosted by Rawson Auctions Western Cape and Barristers Grill. The Property Investors dinner is an opportunity for like minded business individuals to relax and enjoy fine dining and a great atmosphere. Guests include investors, developers and well known high profile personalities in the property arena.
The event, more specifically known as the 1000 Star Challenge for Children in need of Orthopaedic Surgery, kicked off at the dinner on the 7th March and immediately received support from the majority of attending members, financially or otherwise.

"We are delighted to announce," said Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape, "that a large amount of the guests that attended the dinner either signed a debit order or made a donation right away. All the funds that were raised go directly to Maitland Cottage Home, which has a full surgical paediatric hospital and performs some 575 elective surgeries per year. Patients are all referred from the Red Cross Children’s hospital and range between the ages of two weeks and 15 years old."

Jovanovski and Lance Chandler, the owner of Barristers Grill in Newlands, have set themselves a challenge to encourage 1000 people to contribute R100 a month by debit order, over a fixed period to Maitland Cottage Home.
