McGregor, says Jovanovski, which is a 10 minute drive away from [Robertson](http://www.rawson.co.za/property/robertson) via Route 62 and only 150km from [Cape Town](http://www.rawson.co.za/property/cape-town), is almost directly in the centre of the Breede River Wine Valley and has managed to keep its 19th century rustic appeal over the last few decades. The large house, she says, which is on an erf of 1,016 m2, has four bedrooms in total — two are en-suite with Meranti floors and open fireplaces and the remaining two are large attic bedrooms. The kitchen, which is very modern, has concealed lighting, a built-in fridge and freezer, a gas hob and an electric oven. The home also has a large living room and a bar area. The property also has many additional features such as ample off-street parking for four cars, a double tandem garage, a workshop and a 24 m2 braai and recreation area that faces a natural dam and a swimming pool with twin outdoor braais. The garden is equipped with a tool shed, says Jovanovski, it is well maintained and has fully grown ferns as well as eight apple trees. The whole property is surrounded by high walls and is totally secure. “The reserve price for this home,” said Jovanovski, “is set at R1 million — making this an extremely well-priced investment for any buyer.” The auction will be held at the Rawson Property Group’s head offices at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch, on 18th September at 12 noon. Rawson Auctions do not asked bidders to pay an auction fee, but their terms and conditions insist on a 5% deposit on the purchase price and a 10% auctioneer’s commission, plus VAT, to be paid on the fall of the hammer.   ##### For more information, email [marketing@rawsonproperties.com](mailto:marketing@rawsonproperties.com) or visit [www.rawson.co.za](https://www.rawson.co.za/) for the latest market tips and industry news. ## Rawson ### Leave a comment ### More Posts Jul 02, 2026 #### [Stock shortage puts Western Cape sellers in the driving seat](https://blog.rawson.co.za/stock-shortage-puts-western-cape-sellers-in-the-driving-seat) advice [![Share on Facebook](https://blog.rawson.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/social-uploaded-images/Facebook%20Icons.png?width=24&name=Facebook%20Icons.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on LinkedIn](https://blog.rawson.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/social-uploaded-images/Linkedin%20Icon.png?width=24&name=Linkedin%20Icon.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on Twitter](https://blog.rawson.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/social-uploaded-images/Twitter.png?width=24&name=Twitter.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Large%20free%20standing%20home%20in%20McGregor%20to%20go%20under%20the%20hammer) May 28, 2026 #### [Rates increase by 25 basis points: What May’s MPC decision means for SA property](https://blog.rawson.co.za/rates-increase-by-25-basis-points-what-mays-mpc-decision-means-for-sa-property) [![Share on Facebook](https://blog.rawson.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/social-uploaded-images/Facebook%20Icons.png?width=24&name=Facebook%20Icons.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on LinkedIn](https://blog.rawson.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/social-uploaded-images/Linkedin%20Icon.png?width=24&name=Linkedin%20Icon.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on Twitter](https://blog.rawson.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/social-uploaded-images/Twitter.png?width=24&name=Twitter.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2Fblog.rawson.co.za%2Flarge-free-standing-home-in-mcgregor-to-go-under-the-hammer%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Large%20free%20standing%20home%20in%20McGregor%20to%20go%20under%20the%20hammer) May 19, 2026 #### [Who’s fixing what?
