On Wednesday the 30th of October, Rawson Auctions will be auctioning off a Clifton beach bungalow situated above Clifton Third beach, says Tanya Jovanovski, co-franchisee for Rawson Auctions in the Western Cape.

The timber bungalow, which is around 223 m2 in size, was originally built in 1937 and has been extensively renovated since. The lower level has two modern, en suite bedrooms, a walk-in dressing room fitted with cupboards and a private, stone-floored relaxation garden linked to the bedrooms.

The upper level, says Jovanovski, comprises of a main living area, an open-plan lounge with a fireplace, a dining room with a built in display unit, a fully fitted kitchen with a separate area to house all of the appliances, a small storage area and a wraparound entertainment deck, which has its own plunge pool, covered gazebo and views of the Atlantic Ocean and the world famous Clifton beaches.

“Glass, wooden framed sliding doors, glass wall panels and double volume wooden beams throughout the living area give the bungalow a feeling of light and spaciousness,” said Jovanovski.

The auction will take place at the Rawson Property Group’s head office at 222 Main Road, Rondebosch at 12 noon. Jovanovski expects bidding to start at R12 million.

The Consumer Protection Act regulations stipulate that all bidders be registered and that they bring certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence. Rawson Auctions have not asked bidders to pay an auction fee, but their terms and conditions insist on a 5% deposit on the purchase price and a 10% auctioneer’s commission, plus VAT, being paid on the fall of the hammer.
